A bored animal finds its own entertainment, and you rarely like what it picks. The skirting board, the curtains, your face at four in the morning.
The toys here are the ones that work when you're not free to play. Balls that roll and bounce on their own when touched, a car that drives itself around the room trailing a feather, lasers for the energy a flat doesn't burn off by itself.
Two things worth knowing before you choose one.
Mental work tires an animal faster than more exercise does. Ten minutes of real chasing or problem-solving does more than an extra lap of the park, and it doesn't build the stamina that makes them need even more tomorrow.
And a laser is a chase with no catch. Cats hunt a dot that can never be caught, and for some that's genuinely frustrating. If you use one, end every session with something real — the feather, a toy, a few treats where the dot has been.
Nothing here is chew-proof, whatever anyone claims. The ones with a battery inside are for supervised play, not for leaving with a determined dog for an afternoon. We'd rather tell you that than sell you something that lasts a weekend.
